Interview with our Head Perfumer
Rémi Barbier
Rémi Barbier was born in Provence where the very particular scents of the countryside attracted him. In his youth, each stroll was a pretext for discovering a new scent in the “Provence perfumer’s organ”. His favourite odours, such that remind him of his early childhood, are plainly those with aromatic, woody and resinous notes, such as thyme, rosemary, pine, cistus, etc.
After being awarded a Bachelor’s in Chemistry, he took up an internship with the famous perfumer, Jean-Claude ELLENA. This encounter and the apprenticeship by his side allowed Rémi to realise his dream by becoming a Perfumer-Creator.
He enrolled at the French Post-graduate School of Perfumes, ISIPCA in Versailles, to complete his training.

« For me, perfumery is a perfect question of subjectivity. I like working with precious raw materials that inspire me, creating and formulating to get a result that evokes a real emotion to me. »

Passionate about traveling and trail-running, he has often combined his twin passions to discover the world, which allowed him to develop his creative spirit, and above all to expose himself to different olfactory cultures, in order to create perfumes, that would give our clients the same emotion by smelling them, that Rémi got,
in creating them.
